Why blog about books?

Well, having been at University for 4 years (and possibly going back soon, oops!), studying English Literature and then library studies, it was kind of inevitable that books were going to play a big role in my life.

I realised that when I was chatting with friends over coffee, or ranting about lecturers, there was one thing lots of people were more than willing to talk (and sometimes shout) about: books.

I know I know, why another book review blog?

Well, I decided to approach the whole blog-o’sphere from a different angle, slightly more critically and eagle-eyed. I try to look at various aspects of each book in my reviews such as : character analysis, general writing technique, how much I lost my self in the book and the odd bit of literary criticism.

Books are incredible things, they can make you deal with emotions you didn’t realise were bubbling away under the surface; they can bring you face to face with your own issues; they can make you question you beliefs; they can give you a platform for discussion; but, in my opinion, most importantly, they offer you a chance to escape from reality, dream a little and indulge in your passions.
